Cogfordᵀᴹ Assessment Overview
At Cogford, we offer standardized cognitive assessments for children aged 2.7 years through adolescence. These assessments help schools and parents understand a child’s cognitive strengths and learning readiness. Our approach evolves with age to suit developmental needs:
Ages 2.7 – 7 years: Focus on early cognitive development and processing skills.
Ages 8 years and above: Emphasis on verbal and non-verbal cognitive abilities.
Each assessment is administered one‑on‑one by a trained professional and yields a detailed, individualized report.

Ages 2.7 to 7 Years

🧠 What Is Assessed?
Your child’s early cognitive development is evaluated across areas that underlie later academic success, including:
Verbal Processing:
Understanding spoken instructions
Naming familiar objects
Using language to solve simple problems
Non‑verbal Reasoning:
Recognizing patterns
Matching and sorting shapes or pictures
Solving puzzles without reliance on language
Spatial Reasoning:
Visualizing and manipulating shapes

Understanding part–whole relationships
These areas capture foundational thinking skills that support learning in school, such as following classroom directions, reasoning through new concepts, and approach to problem solving. The activities are age‑appropriate and engaging for young children.
